Suspension Question.
Need advice from the suspension experts.
I just recently bought a 2001 S2000. It came with Tein Flex Coilovers and EDFC.
On the crappy northern potholed and patched roads we have here in Nova Scotia canada it rides awful. I have tried different settings on the edfc but it makes little difference.
I was provided with stock suspension. I did some research and the stock spring rates are half what the tein ones are. If i put the stock suspension back will the car ride better?
Obviously I will loose handling but I am not going to be using it as a track car I just want a car that is fun to drive and not punishing.

ok now that i have gotten that off my chest...yes if you put the stock suspension back on it will ride better as in softer. Though stock AP1 suspension still holds its on when it comes to stiff. the only way to make the Teins softer is to caress them more and tell them that you love'em till the day they blow

From: TRILLINOIS....WAY downtown, jerky.
try getting the car aligned. A shitty ride could also be due to the tires being toed out or in too much. The tires will be hitting bumps while traveling sideways. This increases the harshness of bumps by A TON! Excessive camber/ positive caster also increases the annoyance factor.
Make sure the previous owner hasnt preloaded the springs. This makes the springs stiffer, and consequently, the ride harsher.
Check tire pressure. If it's much above normal, your ride will be harsher.
All in all, the flex really isnt designed to be "agressive". The ride really shouldnt be that "punishing".

In your case, set your EDFC settings to 16 Front and 16 Rear! That should make it better. Remember that the car is light and even on the softest setting on the EDFC, it will still feel stiff! If that doesn't work, check to make sure that the coil overs are evenly adjusted to the right height and or like "B Serious" said,"try getting the car aligned!"

if your roads are as crappy as they are.... you will probably gain handling because you are not bouncing around so much....
also, i will guarantee over half the people on here have never out driven the capabilities of a stock s2k suspension.....
