2003 Civic LX sedan, automagic:
I'm a bit embarassed to post this but cleary I'm missing something here...
My right (passenger) turn signal is flashing hyper fast. I've check (replaced) the passenger side turn signal bulb, taillight turn signal bulb, brake light bulb, high beam bulb AND headlight bulb. Also checked all fuses! All lights are working, they just blink uber fast. WTF is going on; what am I missing? Is there a relay that could need replaced, a bad ground? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thats your problem, it's no ordinary civic, maybe it's supposed to be like that... it is magic after all...

If everything is working what's the problem? That is kind of odd though, never heard of that before. All your other lights are working fine?

 

^haha. Oh, its very ordinary w/ no mods. Its my new daily driver.

After an archived content search: I realized that my door chime isnt working either. What is the relation here?

 

Maybe a possible short... I'll help ya research... I'm at work so I'm not doing anything. lol

 

DID YOU CHANGE THE BULB TO THE SAME ONE OR SOMETHING DIFFERENT CAUSE I CHANGED MINE TO L.E.Ds AND THEY BLINK SUPER FAST.

 

Thanks. Its the same wedge type # bulb every where. There are no mods to this car. I'm thinking its a short after searching more. I'll have to check a few things when I get some time. Thanks guys.

It sounds like a wiring problem to me as well

 

^Yeah, the car was 'tapped' on the front pass side...they missed something in repair; hence why I bought it so cheap.

hahaha I know what you mean the system I use requires CAPS and keep switching on and off screwin stuff up

 

I think your turn signal module is actually broken. I've had that happen in a Chevrolet. Usually when there's a short, it also might send a shock to the module, throwing it off balance. Otherwise, it could be just an ordinary short in the wiring, which will be a pain to locate.

There's an idea, I forgot that I had a bike that kind of a similar situation occured... something to check out

 

Bulbs that blink fast are usually caused by a high resistance issue rather than a short. I have encountered a bad connection that caused the turn signal to activate twice as fast just like it would if one were burned out. I suspect a voltage drop somewhere, assuming the bulbs you replaced are in good condition.

I'm not sure if I quite understand that... if you have higher resistance and lower voltage your going to get a current drop as well, I don't understand how that would speed up the light?

 

Not to bring this back but I'll tell you what I found: The Dbags that replaced the pass. headlight used a different turn signal bulb/harness...they used a 2wire vs honda 3wire...they left the other end of the ground wire hanging at the loom creating a voltage issue. Fixed for $5 from oemhondaparts.
