Default 02 CIVIC EX STEERING PROBLEMS. POWER STEERING?

I have a 02 civic coupe lowered with wheels (not sure if it makes a difference). I notice my car kinda not driving a straight line. It will have a pull to the left and a slight pull the the right at time. I know it isn't the wind or the groves on the road. If I hold the wheel straight and the car will drift to the left of the lane and a little to the right without even moving the steering wheel. Kinda worried to race or even go over 80 since it is crazy. I would say a wheel bearing but it doesn't have any noise when driving. Anyone had this problem? I really noticed it when I put aftermarket wheels and lowered my car. When I had my factory wheels it wasn't as noticeable. I drive my audi tt sometimes and that car has no pull at all and I drive on the same roads. Let me know if anyone knows whats up with this.

Got new tires over at discout tire and they mounted and balanced all 4. Didn't get an alignment. Might roll by a place and get that done a little later.

JUST TO LET YOU KNOW IF YOU DONT GET IT ALIGNED RIGHT AWAY YOUR GOING TO BURN YOUR NEW TIRES REALLY QUICK.IF YOU HAVE BAD CAMBER YOU MAY WANT TO FIX THAT TO.

This isn't my first car dropped and I know all about bad camber. My civic camber is fine and my alignment is not all that bad to the eye. I might roll it by the shop later to put it on the machine to make sure.

Toe affects tyre wear worse than camber. OP needs a full alignment before anything else.

And for gods sake, please stop using CAPS LOCK!

I can guarantee your front wheels are toed in, and if you dropped your car more than an inch and a half, you'll need to adjust the caster as well.

They are toed in a little. I am just saying I am sure that isn't the problem. I am getting a vibration every once in a while from the front end. It isn't a constant thing like ever time I go 60 mph or anything. I will be going 40 and it will happen, I will be going 75 and it will happen. And sometimes I get a sudden pull. I am not sure about any of this cause I have never had a sudden pull or a sudden vibration. What would you say it is?

You still have a toe problem, and it looks like your wheels are also out of balance. It's probably due to premature tire wear. Get an alignment ASAP, and have your tires re-balanced.

These wheels were just put on. Out of balance doesn't come and go. If tires are out of balance then they would shake around 60 mph. This isn't the case. Feels like something is lose. I might just have to take it to the shop if all I am going to hear is because I lowered my car when this problem existed before I lowered the car.

Inconsistent wear on a tire can easily cause the tires to become out of balance. Balance on a wheel is actually quite fickle, and it can be very easy to lose your wheel's balance. I've seen it happen driving on a semi-rocky gravel road for no more than 2 minutes.

If something feels loose, than it could be a tie rod end or possibly blown struts. Maybe, your wheels weren't tightened down hard enough to the hub (you'd notice the vibrations mostly when decelerating).

Ok i've had this problem and its a simple fix.

When you got your wheels put on did you get some wheel spacers on them? When i didn't have any wheel spacers on the hub of the car, the steering wheel would start to shake roughly after 65mph. It was not a constant shake, but every now and then.

Also, you really need an alignment to fix that little problem of you shifting to the right/left. You cannot tell if your camber is fine just by eye balling it. You need the machine to do it. Your eyes are not superman's eyes. You can't tell.

That will solve your little issue of shifting to the right or left, but just remember since you're lowered your alignment will get out of wach very very often.

Trust me on the wheel spacers thing, get those spacers installed on ur front wheels and have it computer re-balanced. Just becaues they already balanced the tires, doesn't mean they balanced it correctly.

You can't tell by the eye if the camble is off? I dont think it take supermans eyes to figure that out. A person with 20 20 vision can see a wheel not sitting straight up. Now on the alignment it will take a machine to figure that out cause it can be off by a little and creat problems. Now I hear a freaking noise when I take a sharp turn. I have the spacers that make the wheel sit perfect on the hub. Once again, THIS PROBLEM EXISTED BEFORE I PUT THE SPRINGS AND WHEELS ON. Stop saying it is the wheels or camble cause if that was the problem then it wouldn't have existed when it was at stock height with stock wheels. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .......................................EVERYONE DO NOT POST ON HERE WITH ANY SUGGESTIONS, I HAVE DECIDED THAT EVERYONE IS GOING TO SAY IT IS MY WHEELS OR CAMBER. THANKS TO THE PEOPLE THAT SAID SOMETHING ELSE THAN THE WHEELS AND CAMBER.

If the problem existed before you changed the suspension setup, you may be looking at tie rod ends and/or struts. When my tie rod end went, it made a nice amount of knocking on turns, and now with blown struts they REALLY knock hard on small, awkward bumps.

I notice a single knock when I turn the wheel. That is why I think it is something lose. How do you make sure the tie rod is good? I almost sounds like a axle nut is lose and the axle is smacking the hub. If that sounds like a tie rod, let me know.

That sounds a lot like a tie rod end. They're a bit tricky to test, but there is a good write up here: http://www.motoringtv.com/quak...s.php
