HELP! Car won't start!
So, i relocated my battery to my trunk, got it starting and running perfect. then i made the mistake of cleaning the engine bay.
i got water in one of the plug holes (i guess the plug wasn't sealed somehow?). Anyway, I got most of the water out, and then started the car. It started a little rough and then idled fine. but once i gave it gas it just died and it wont start back up. it tries to, and almost gets there. i even get a backfire from the exhaust once in a while. i tried drying the plug hole more and checked the others. i am currently airing them out with a fan.
any ideas what could be wrong? A friend suggested the coil, but i don't have a way to test it. i have no way of getting anywhere (ie walmart) and i am supposed to work at 6 am. any help is much appreciated. is there any harm in continueing to try to start the car? bc it seems like its so close...
good news is my engine bay is pretty clean
btw, i know its not the battery. i got a new one today, tried using both of them, no luck.

my problem sounds similar to this one, but no one replied to the guy's thread.

well, after i gave it time to dry out the distributor, it did better. it got close to starting more frequently than it had before.
then i decided to take the plugs back out and give them a spritz of wd40 (i read somewhere online it helps with problems involving water and electric). bingo. it started up fine, like it had never had a problem. revs with no hesitation or hickups...
i'm sure it was a combination of having some wet electrical parts and just needing them to dry out. and with the help of some wd40, everything became better.
i am about to run down the road to make sure she is driving okay. i don't want any trouble when i drive to work at 5:30 am
thanks everyone for the help. lol, j/k.
