Loud Pop when i shift????? What the hell could it be????????????/
ok for about 3 weeks now in my 88 rex i get a loud pop sometimes when i shift mostly into 2nd and 3rd. I can usually feel it like something has hit the firewall. I did a sohc zc swap about 3 months ago and in the process replaced all of the mounts with brand new oem ebay ones so i know none of those are bad and i checked them myself. I also put in a new exedy oem clutch and throwout bearing.
I am stumped at this point what could cause this. Have any of you had a similiar problem? I was almost contemplating maybe the throwout bearing? Because when i sit still and torque the motor (sitting in one place, putting the car in gear and trying to take off with the brake on) i dont see anything hit nor do i hear the pop.

I did, changed front motor and problem was solved, no popping!
If it's your mounts i would also suggest taking a look at this:
