Default has anyone here done this...

I plan on taking a D16A6 cylinder head and bolting it to my D15B7 block. Now, I looked up hp ratings and the D15B7 makes 102hp and 92tq(stock)---D16A6 makes 108hp and 100tq(stock). I dynoed my car with my mods now minus the igniton and got 98whp and 82wtq. With this head, how much of a hp jump am I looking at with my mods?

Also, I was told to take the internals of the A6 and use them in my engine. I looked at the strokes and saw the A6 has a 90mm vs. the B7 84mm. Will this work in my block? I want to rebuild my motor(184k miles..) with forged stuff to go with a higher compression with a shot of nitrous.

Any help(other than telling me to search, because searched) will be greatly appreciated.

Mods: k&n a/f,sri,skunk2 i/m,aem fuel rail,accel direct fit H.O. coil,bosch wires and plat.4 plugs,shaved head,4-2-1 header,2.25in. exhaust,zex race 6.7Lb flywheel,exedy s1 clutch,HD axels,synthetic fluids everywhere.

See what bearings they told you to use with the D16 crank and the D15 b, I would like to know, also how thick a head gasket.

I got 88-91 civic and 92-95 haynes manuals so I'll look to them for the specs on the crank. I'm thinking I'll go with either Z6 or ZC headgasket.

seriously man, i put a a6 head on a 1.5 block and could tell a big difference. the main journals on the 1.6 crank will not fit in the 1.5 block. if u can just get the whole a6 block and build that and overbore if u have to.

hope that helps

A6 is the same casting as a B7, the A6 cam is bigger. D16 crank won't go in a D15B7. You could use a D15B crank and D16 rods, Bense might have his D15B crank FS still.

i think you should check this month's honda tuning magazine. there was a huge article about putting swapping d16's and d17's together. certain parts here and there to make a pretty decent amount of power

i know it's not directly related but you might find some of the info useful.
