Starting Problems, Please Help!
I have a 1994 honda civic dx. It is an xtra car but my wife drives it every day. A few months ago it would only turn over. I checked for a spark and of course there was none. I replaced the coil and this seemed to do the trick. Later that month it became sluggish, hard to start and was skipping, so I changed the plugs, wires, cap and button for the second time in a year and a half. Problem solved.Last week it would not start again so I replaced the coil again, problem solved. Now this morning she calls to tell me that it took three times to start when she stopped at the store. It is beginning the same symptoms of the coil again. What would make the same part become defective. Yes it is an Autozone part, but the chances of getting two bad coils are slim to none... Any suggestions?
Honda coils/ignitors are known to be a little weak and go on the car but not typically as often as what you've been experiencing. I'm wondering if your fuel pump relay might be causing your hard starting problems... If your car is running and driving ok and only experiencing hard starting problems once it's hot, I'd be inclined to check/replace that relay.
