Let us play "Will this work?"...
With your host Mike Myers.
So last night I figured out my problem was the little plastic cap off the neutral safety switch had broken off.
Today I thought of a great idea to keep people from stealing my car.
Move the neutral safety switch and make it a push button start vehicle.
This is how my brain is working this problem:
Move the switch to the dash somewhere. This will require no rewiring of the switch and hardly any drilling. This will also make thieves unable to start my car with the old method of pushing in the clutch. Im also thinking of some mounting possibilities on my door possibly at the bottom of the coin holder/hand grip thingy.
Also whats the danger of permanently holding the switch down? Would that allow me to install my own kill switch if I spliced the wires from the battery to the switch? Possibly my own push and hold button while I turn the ignition?
I figure it to be a fun neat little project for me and some friends to undertake. But I want some Honda Tech insight to this first.

all sounds fine minus the wiring in the battery part. when you push down the clutch pedal, it just completes the circut to ground. this is a common kill switch.
just wire the switch in series with the neutral safety switch.

I'm confused.. Is this an automatic or a manual? That switch on the clutch pedal is also called a neutral safety switch?
Also... LOL I was just thinkin about this after looking at some car security site.
That switch only prevents the starter to work when you turn the key if it's not activated (the switch). You could move it some where else, you would just need to push it while turning the key to start.
There's probably no harm in holding it. But don't wire it to the battery!! Why would you do that??
This switch wont prevent push or bump starting a car with a manual transmission because it only prevents the starter from working.

Manual, I thought I said I had a clutch pedal?
Its not hooked up DIRECTLY to the battery. By hooked up to the battery I meant its getting power. Sorry for the confusion!! The switch has to be pressed down so it isnt ground anymore and power flows to your starter.
And by holding it down I mean fabricating up a small piece of metal to fit around the switch to keep the plunger held down at all times and splicing a new switch, possibly a flip, into the wire. Then mounting that say near the fuse box outta the way of any would be thieves eyes.
Ill get around to taking pictures of what Im talking about possibly tomorrow or the next day.
