awww ....
Up until this point I thought I knew hondas. Then I started this project, put a jdm 92-95 d15b into a 91 civic hatch, pretty straight forward, right? I am having nothing but problems now. I put the engine in fine, but can't get the thing in gear now. I know I have to adjust the clutch cable but don't know how and I'm throwing a code, four flashes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I start the car, try to put it in gear, but when i do it acts like I didn't even push in the clutch. It just grinds the gears like I'm just learning how to drive. If I turn the car off I can put it in gear, start the car and take off, but no shifting gears after that. Where the clutch grabs is only about an inch relief on the pedal.

i had this problem with the same exact setup. You need to adjust the clutch cable correctly and if that doesnt do it then chances are you stretched it and need to get a new one. When you do start the cable pretty loose then tighten it a little at a time checking in between each adjustment to see if the clutch is ingageing/disengaging. Over tighting the cable results in stretching. It took me forever to figure this out. I ended up going through 2 cables.
you can swap a motor but cant adjust your clutch cable??!?!? You had to take the cable off to take the motor out so how did you do that? You cant figure out the threaded cable at the tranny? Adjust it one way...if that makes it worse adjust it the other way...

make sure your clutch pedal is still connected to your clutch cable. this really stupid person was going around town asking people for advice with the same problem and thats what the fix was. new pedals.

You should have about 1/4" play when you grab the cable by the battery and pull up on it. Keep loosening the nut until you get a little play. And don't pull with all your mite you just need a little pull.
Ditto on the Sensor.

I did search, I wasn't sure if the codes were the same from obd0 to obd1. If someone has a question why do people act like **** instead of helping. You wasted your time writing that when you could have done something productive, like help.
Tranny was taken off, clutch was replaced, fluid is checked, OBD 1 dist. wired for OBD 0. What you guys think. Biggee I don't want to hear from you unless you're trying to help, the rest of you guys, thanks for your input/advice. I'll try adjusting again, see if that works.

there is a little nut on the tranny that the cable goes throuhg i think you turn it counter clockwise to tighten it i could be wron gthough i cant remmeber its been a while since i adjusted mines
but if you step on your clutch there should be 1/4-1/2 inch free play before you start to feel pressuer from the clutch
good luck
