whats the best d seriers set up for turbo?
your best bet is to search around, look at what others are doing. no one here is going to spoon feed you information just cause your new.
id get sum bigger injectors (b-series is what my bro used) nd spend sum time on the head my brother turboed his d series motor and within 2 days the head gasket went bad then after replacing that the motor droped a cylinder and we took it out nd swaped in a b18a with gsr tranny he was running 8 psi on the d series.. oh nd make sure you get the oil feed right yeah we went through alot of time nd effort to try nd friguer out why their was oil blowing into the intake pipes.

any single cam with a turbo will yield similar results.
my opinion, do something easy. drop in a d16a6 and si trans, turbo it... and have fun.

ok go to forced induction and look up the sohc single slama tread. its got 200 pages u should be able to make up your mind. for some thing cheap get a greddy turbo kit or get a dsm 14b setup for it.
"patrick1245" b-series and d-series have the same injectors..**** almost all honda 4cyl engines use the same 240cc engines except for a select few..
I agree with dr.latino, best would be sleeved with a built head,,period..
I dont understand when people say the motor pisses them off.

that's a tired engine, not a d16a6 specific problem.

i got a little more experience than this guy.
not only that, but if i wanted a turbo motor, i'd have one.
the reason i said that, was because he wants to switch from a d16a6 to a d16z6. same **** pretty much..... both slow. waste of time in my opinion. just turbo the a6.... it'll be just as fast as any turbo sohc setup.

I would have to think that as long as you got a good tune on the a6 it would make for a strong pulling motor. Turboing the engine is going to be expensive, time consuming, and a bit painful. Why you would want to throw a swap in there to compound the situation is beyond me. Do some research on turbo models, find which one will best support/complement your displacement, then put it together with chrome/uberdata tune. Should get a nice running engine.
And to fix smoke problem, valve guide seals most likely. Maybe your rings suck as well. I would get that motor running fine without turbo before dropping cash and introducing another variable to how the car runs.
Good luck either way.
