Ok this is weird. When im listening to radio and I have a prefect radio station. As soon as I plug in my Blackberry cell phone in power supply under arm rest. The radio goes staic. Im mean I dont loose the station completly. But what was a perfect station just went shitty. Anyone have this problem.

Because he doesn't realize that charging anything with a 12V outlet on any car will cause some sort of static. It is more noticable with aftermarket radios.

But it still has nothing to do with it being his first brand new car......As for the static I have never run into a radio station completely going static when using the 12v supply.

yes it does. When you buby a new car you expect it to be flawless. That is what he is experiencing. Charging his cellphone is causing some static on the station he listens to. Whether he's long-range from where the anthena or close rangee, there will be static nonetheless. In OEM radios, it is less noticable.

Picking apart random small rattles on a new car is a far cry from a radio stations that will completely go static when the 12 volt is used.

I do understand what your saying about expecting a flawless NEW car but I don't think the OP would have mentioned this if he had noticed it on his other cars prior. I am certain that he has used a cell charger in other vehicles.

I dont think it matters to him weather its a new car or used, its the fact that its happening and it shouldn't be this severe.

 

Ehhhhhhhh.... either way its a new car and shouldn't be experiencing the static severely. Bring it in....it has a warranty.

 

new car or not isnt an issue. its the set up. my 94 S-10 did it because all the signal wires ran nearby my link to i-pod which was by the charger. if i moved one it was fine.

My dad's Tundra just does it because of the DBW. it interferes and he never had it checked because hes odd and never has the radio on.

My 07 EX never has interference and I usually have both 12v ports running.

I'd consider the last mention of bringing it in for a look.

Ok and with this statment. This isnt completely true. I have been installing electronics in cars for about 4 year and I have only ran into this problen like 3 time. I understand what you are saying about when you use a 12v system that it COULD cause a staic problem. But it wouldnt cause a problem like I have experanced. You def would not get any static if you were litening to a local station. With aftermarket radios. I have never had someone come back to my shop to complane that there radio went static after they plugged in a charger.

 

Chock this one up to magnetic lines of flux.

 

-ever had any problems like this with metallic tint?
there will be radio interference if you have metallic tint in ur car.
-ever had problems with HIDs interfering with your car stereo?
there will always be radio interference and static when your headlights are on.

We understand what your saying but the interference should never be as severe as making a once fine station completely static ridden.

So he doesnt loose the station completely, but like I say it becomes static ridden/un-enjoyable.
