Default B16 or Ls/vtec?

Well i have been wanting to do a ls/vtec or all-motor ls build for a while but my friend is getting rid of his b16 and i was curious if i should just buy his head and stay with an ls/vtec or buy the full swap and stroke it or even just stick with the b16?
Any suggestions will help
