Okay searching didn't help me one bit. My vtec isn't engaging anymore every since I did my auto to 5spd swap. I am trying to narrow my possibilities down. I tested out the solenoid. I cleaned the screen. It does work hooking it to the battery. The vtec solenoid valve thingy moves. It springs back. It pushes in with a lil effort, not much. Is this normal. My oil pan was dented so i replaced that and the oil pick up was damaged so that got replaced as well. Did an oil and filter change. Dip stick is past the the second mark a lil. I still run the auto p13 without the tcu dis-connected. And yes my vss works fine. And yes the car is at running temps when I try. When i had my auto it kicked in at 5200 so I know when its suppose to happen. I even take it up to 6200 and still nothing. The solenoid and oil switch are connected and no wires were severed. I am running out of options. My throttle cable as a bit of give to it. Is this related to vtec engagement at all. I don't have idle problems though.
