Went to the track again...
As the title says, I went to the track in my '94 Civic (USDM GS-R swap, SRP 9.5:1 pistons, Eagle rods, Exedy clutch, Fidanza flywheel, I/H/E). The last time I went was my first time racing a FWD car ever and traction was a big problem (worn out tie rod ends, stock worn out suspension) and still is (my best time the last time I went was a 15.40 @ 90mph with a 2.4 60').
Well, last night I had all new suspension (Eibach Sportlines, Tokico Illuminas, Skunk2 camber kits, and new tie rod ends), but I'm still on street radials, which is holding my 60' back still, anyways, on to the times.
1st run was horrendous...launched way too hard
16.22 @ 90mph with a 2.7 60'
2nd run was better...15.3 @ 92mph with a 2.4 60'
3rd was the best I could get...15.10 @ 92mph with a 2.37 60'
My last 2 runs were both 15.18's @ 92ish.
I'm sure people think that's slow and I'm a shitty driver, but the way I figure it is is that my 60' is what's holding me back from being in the "usual" 1/4 mile ET of the usual B-Series swapped hatchbacks...If I could cut a 2.0 60' then I'd be in the mid-high 14's.
Another problem I noticed was with my powerband, I'm usually able to rev it to ~8K, but last night it seemed that around 7K it just flatlined and wouldn't pull anymore, I'm not sure what the problem is, but I'm going to do some investigating.

Currently running some mediocre Kumho Ecsta street radials, which is the problem with my 60'...I know that for a fact.
I figure that if I can get a 2.0 60' then that'll shave off .3 seconds off my ET...so 14.80 give or take
As for practice...prior to my new suspension I had to launch it hard to get the car moving (5K), I tried that with the new suspension and it just spun it's *** off, so I launched it ~3K and it got better and better each time.

Agreed.
In my old hatch, I swapped in a stock GSR into my 95 hatch and ran a 14.2 @ 98mph. Seat time, my friend. It will come.

Yes, it was built as a turbo motor with the low comp. pistons and such.
I don't see my ET's getting better without some better tires, so that will be my next thing to buy.
I bought the swap out of a wrecked Civic...after I took everything out of the wrecked car and tore it down I realized the previous swap was done half-assed (the guy said he had the swap done at a Dodge dealership...why, I don't know). He said the ECU, which is a P28, was "chipped" for no rev limiter, but I noticed that it wasn't done RIGHT whenever I hooked a scanner up to it to try to scan for codes and data streams and what not...so a known good ECU will be another thing.
SuperSteve, what was your 60' time on that 14.2 pass?

it should DEF be alot faster. I'v done a few 14.2 passes with a stock GSR (well only intake n exhaust) my 60's were around 2.0's..but i'v even ran 14.3-14.4 with street tires and 2.2 60's....seat time will help alot also

If I remember correctly, 22 or 23. Pretty shitty, I was only launching about 4500, and still ripped 'em loose.

This idea may sound retarded, BUT I remember my friend with an EP3 tell me that his car felt like it didn't pull as hard up top when he had his silencer in...Saturday night I had my silencer in and it felt like around 7K it just flatlined.
I wouldn't think that something like a silencer would rob me that much, but it did feel like the car couldn't move enough air or something.
It'll probably be later before I get anything else for my car (school starts August 23rd
), but in no particular order...ECU and some drag radials
EDIT: Here's a link to a video of my 15.10 run
