It states in your owner's manual, and should have a sticker under your hood stating it.

In 92-93, I believe Honda switched over from R-12 to R-134a. So, there is almost no way your 99 would be using R-12.

ur the man... i checked the the manual, and it says r 134a

the one which i bought from the auto store "ez chill R-134a refrigerant plus oil" under the instructions it says the low pressure port of the a/c system usually has a blue or black dust cap and is located on the larger diameter tubing that runs between the evaporator (in the dash board)and the compressor (on the engine)

now i have a blue cap one in front of the radiator and a black one behind the radiator, i was under the impression i should fill where the blue cap is but when i read the instructions on the ezchill it seems to be the one behind the radiator

when i checked out with my friend he said that one of them is for the refrigerant and the other one is for oil and should take care where you put the refrigerant

do you have any suggessions? please help

'93 was the first year of R134A in Saturns, there must have been some new regulation.

Edit: Must have been '94. I was with an ex-girlfriend when she was buying a '93 Saturn, the type of refrigerant was brought up as a change for '94 so the '93 had R-12.

you should add refrigerant in the line that runs out of the firewall on the passenger side of the motor. can't remember if it s high or the low, but i think it should tell you that on the can. i know some have refrigerant and an oil both in the can. Also i dont think you can even buy r-12 anymore? i know you can get conversion kits.

all cars sold in the USA were required to use r134a beginning in the 1994 model year.
