trans/axle grinding noise
hey wats up. i have a 99si stock b16 trans. i know its a wierd ? cuz u cant hear the noise or anything. i just thought maybe some had it happen before. so i was driving started hearing a grinding noise so i jacked it up taa home thought it might be tr brakes there all good. i put the car in gear while on jackstands to let the tires spin. and right were the pass. axle goes into the tranny its grinding. oil is good in tranny and axle is good. i havnt pulled the axle yet but any ideas ? or suggestions ?
Jack it up and block one wheel and watch the other spin and note the noise it makes. Then do it to the other wheel.
I would need more information, does it make sound on a turn? If so which way.
What kind of grind, like a growl?
Side gears/pinions could be a culprit, could also be something in the axle/wheel bearing.

yea i did that the pass side is the only side that makes the noise it sounds like gears grinding but it only does it at slow speeds but at high speeds i get like a birdchirp/squeak if i turn the wheel just a lil bit
