Default How do you, prevent your car from being stolen?

Alright I've done some research on this forum and can't find anything on how to prevent your car from being stolen. I know these things don't always work but what are some things you can do to prevent your car from being stolen? I know one, my friends have them. Its something about a Fuel Pump. Like a kill switch. And of course the basic steering wheel/clutch lock. Alarms duh. But yeah anything else out there? LMK! and THANKS IN ADVANCE. I'm looking into a 91' Integra RS. Its CLEAN, 54k, WOW, 5spd/a/c/blah blah blah. Just want to be on the safe side cause my friends civic got stolen. Found after a while though. And my friends rolla. lmk anything!

You can put all you want on it. If someone really wants it they will get your car. It does add a little peace of mind though.

sell your 'teg and buy a buick!

use the search feature on this site and find out...theres a lot of information on what people have already done to their cars. some might get a little extreme, but most of them are easy mods. most common one is the fuel pump switch.

I recently installed 3 switches to my fuel pump power line with my friend. Instead of hiding away a single switch, I had it left in open view (mounted to one of the plastic door trims), so in order to complete the circuit, each switch has to be in either a left, middle, or right position. Only cost about 20 bucks to do.

that's a new one and it's a good idea, but isn't there only so many combinations you can go through with only three switches and three positions? anything to slow the thieves down though right?

This exact question was asked not too long ago but to answer your question, you can install kill switches, detachable steering wheel. brake locks. fuel switch. park in the garage or if you can't and you must park outside try parking near your house. and when you park turn your wheel all the way to the curb so its harder to tow away your car. an alarm. two way pager. theres a lot of ways to be safer BUT if the thief is really good then they can still steal your car if they really wanted to.

i'd say get yourself those kill switches and a quick release with the hub lock. then you can change out those locks on your doors, and if you really want to prevent theft by people breaking in from the windows, get lexen glass.

Keep a close eye on it. But I'd be more worried about a 94+ integra.

3 position 3 switches = 27 combinations, including time it takes to try to start the car itself. I was thinking of installing a 4th one and actually hiding it, making the combination = 64 total.

my whole idea of it is while that thing is stalling for time, an alarm with pager option hits me up, so i can let loose some pent up anger on car jackers. I'm still working on the details, but I probably need to fix up a back-up battery to ensure the alarm isnt cut out right after entry.

Killswitch can be the best way if your smart at hiding it.
