90 Accord EX - Idle problem and start problem... HELP PLEASE!!!!
I've been having problem with my accord for the last few weeks... It starts just fine in the morning (not too smooth but it starts), but upon giving it some gas it feels like it hesatates. (I was told it might be the cadilitic converter???) Also sometimes when I make quick stops at the store it wont start right away im not sure if its heat related since it so freakin hot out here (110 degree). It also over heats at an idle but once you get going again the gauge goes back down to normal. I checked the spark plugs today and 3/4 had oil on them is this BAD?? OR just a seal that needs to be changed... Thanks for the HELP. Anything you guys can recommend to keep my baby alive... Had her since she was 4years.
I'll suggest stand behind the car if it stinks really bad could be the catalityc converter, also the car will be running like s... it 'l rev slow. The over heating can be related to tha catalityc converter also, check the radiator fans and see if they operate normal. If you have oil in your spark plugs replace the valve gasket that is all i can think of rigth now.
hey thanks for the info, if anyone else has any suggestions they are all greatly appreciated. Again thank you all in advance.
The sparkplugs may be fouled by the oil, which may be causing part of your start problem. The sparkplug tube seals may need to be replaced to fix the oil problem.
The hot start problem may be related to the Main Relay, as they can be problematic on your generation Accord.
The overheating can be due to different things, like the radiator fan not turning on as the motor may be dead, or the engine coolant temperature sensor not working, etc.. . .
