Opinions on Continental ContiSport Contact Tires
These tires do not seem to be all that popular in the US, but they seem to be in Europe (they are OEM on new M3s and Porsche 911s, for example).
Anybody used these? Tirerack have a special on 215/40/16s at the moment - they are only $63 each.

my friend got some 225/35/18s for his M3, they 225 is very close to his 255 pilots, width wise

there a MAX performance version with tread patterns similar to the P-Zero's...which ones are you guys talking about???
What's the tread rating and pattern?
When I purchased my used R the dealer had put a set of Continentals on it.
Not one of my favorite tires for grip, but they were great on the highway and lasted a good long time. I think Aleph still has them on the steelies I sold him. Ed

Dry grip is about the only thing I am worried about. You seem to suggest that they are not all that great in that respect. How do they measure up to RE010s (or Azenis for that matter)?

I read the ratings on them too at Tire Rack a few months back since they were so cheap, but I guess the reviews from customers were NOT good from what I remember. I think noise after time was the major issue. Some of those guys are idiots but you can pick out the knowledgeable ones. $63 seems like a steal even just to have new rubber or to replace them with junk tires before the sale of a car (did I just say that in public?
). I guess try them and move onto a better tire next time.

These tyres recently won our MOTOR magazine tyres tests!....very good tyres!...but pricey!
My BMW 330i has those tires in the 225/17 and 245/17 variety. They are an 7.5/10 dry, a 7/10 wet, and an 8/10 for durability (for a "high perf" tire). They work okay when it is cold but arent very good for any snow.
They arent as good as RE010 but if you are looking for a long wearing high performance tire (these do not compromise as much as all seasons), this tire is ideal. For ultimate grip you are looking at the wrong tire. But, at the $63 price point they are a bargain and well worth it!
