I don't know what you need to make it work actually.
The Z6 block has an oil jet in the back in between cylinders #2 and #3 for VTEC. The Y8 block does not.
So I have no idea how to get VTEC to work since the Z6 head needs that oil jet.

It is and it isn't. The Z6 head flows better in the upper RPM than the Y8. The Y8 has 2 more HP, but if you've ever driven both of them you'd see right away that the Y8's designed for "all around" power with an earlier pickup in the power band and an earlier drop off while the Z6 is more linear in terms of power it makes until it's drop off around 6800.
The Z6 head will lower his compression from ~9.61 to ~9.28, but I would still rather use the Z6 head over a Y8 head if you're looking to make power. Though if you utilize the "2 layer" Y8 gasket method you can amp it to ~9.52 which would almost "make up" for the lost compression.
Though like I said before, I don't know how you're gonna get the VTEC to work as the Z6 utilizes an oil jet in the rear of the block which the Y8 block just doesn't have...

There's an asston more to it than that.
The power bands are totally different, the Z6 makes power on a linear pattern until it drops off, it's very RPM oriented in the sense of higher RPM = higher power.
On the Y8 they tried to make more "usable" power, it drops off earlier in the power band, but it picks up earlier too.
If you had a 9.6 CR (Y8) on a Z6 (9.14) you'd be putting out more than 127hp at the fly.

O I know, I was just pointing out how little those numbers me in terms of how the engine's built.

Yeah, except an LS/V kit is ~800 bucks. Do you wanna spend 800 bucks just so you can pop a Z6 head on a Y8 block? I'm sure there's another way around it - I just don't know it.

Please learn to type before you learn to work on a car though.

Not necessarily...as Syndacate pointed out, the power bands are completely different in the way the power is laid out.
If anything, you should run the Z6 head w/ the Y8 Intake Manifold...If you're staying NA, that Skunk2 IM will be useless to you. You will be getting power waaay too late in the upper RPM range. Waste of money IMHO.
