Look in the security forum for the radio code listand start punching in random si radio codes.

I have an Si radio too. I went to Honda and gave them the code off the back of the CD player. They will give you a key code to enter to make it work. I'd suggest writing this down on a business card from Honda and keep it in your wallet (which should be with you - not the car - at all times).

I'd try that first. Or just get the numbers off the back of the unit and call your Honda dealer. That's what I did.

It's free if you have the serial number from the CD player. So it shouldn't be a big deal.

good.... i thought i had to pay when i went to the dealer cuz i didnt think it would be expensive but then again it is the dealer

 

They're always just a call away in case you need to ask.

 

call the dealer if you have the vin number the unit came from

Sorry, that's wrong. I even confirmed it with Honda earlier today.

My sister's Integra needed it's stock radio reset and guess what? She couldn't get it without removing the radio. Acura told her this. If they could look it up by VIN, why would they so often ask for the radio's serial number instead and not the VIN?

It's also strange that out of the years I've been into Hondas, you are the FIRST person I've ever heard say that you get the code using the VIN, not the radio serial number.

I just called my local Honda dealership. Sorry to have to tell you, but you're wrong.

I told them I was looking for a radio code for a '99 Civic. I asked, "Can I get that with the VIN or do I need the serial number?" Chris, from Honda replied back with, "No, the VIN won't tell us anything. We need the serial number." Those were his exact words.

i work at a honda dealer and i kno that we have custumers come in all the time and jus say there radio wont work n we put a code in for them free.

 

check inside the glove box. there should be a serie of number (black) on a white sticker. give that to honda dealer. they will give you the code.
then. get some vinyl , cut out the code and stick them on your car somewehere.

I actually heard from someone that only some cars have that.

I keep my code written down on the back of a Honda business card. Then just keep it in your wallet. That way you always have it and potential thieves have to go through the hassle.
