I have a problem with a sticky pedal. I've read somewhere on this forum that it could be the butterfly in the throttlebody that needs oiling.

The thing is that the throttle rotor slides absolutely perfectly. Therefore, I am led to believe that the throttlebody is okay because i'd meet resistence iwth the throttle rotor if it were the case....right?

Now, would this leave anything other than the throttle cable? Once again, I am meeting resistence in the pedal, but when I gave the vehicle some gas through the throttle rotor in the engine, I met zero resistance.

Any ideas here?

 

yea it could be a kinked cable or something... mine does the same and starts bouncing off the rev limiter before i can un stick the pedal or shut off the car.

 

change out the cable with a known good one and see if the problem goes away. if not, you know it isnt a cable issue... but some throttle body or carb/choke cleaner cant hurt either.

I took off the intake today, and sprayed a good amount of TB cleaner into the intake. The throttle body valve was smooth as butter to operate. No stickyness at all.

The pedal, however, is still sticky. Does this help narrow the possibilities down to the cable or is there anything else to check?
