My Reman is leaking ATF at two bolts!!! - DAM!!!!!!!
Hey all...About 2 months and 4000km ago I had my transmission replaced under warranty on my 01 Accord LX-V6 and man the I forgot how smooth the transmission use too be!!... It was like a new car all over again!
Well.. About two days ago, I had to get something that rolled underneath the car, and low and behold, I see from the corner of my eye some red stuff... I crawl under even further and I see ATF fluid on the bottom of the transmission housing... DAM!!!!!!!
So I clean it up as I did not know where it was coming from, and I checked the car while it was not running about 3 hours later and no ATF.. I take the car work the next day and when I get home after work, I drive the car on some ramps to get a better look, and it looks like the fluid is seeping out from two of the lower bolts that hold together the torque converter housing and the transmission/axle housing.....
I will be taking the car to the dealer to get it fixed, but what do you think on how they might attempt to fix the leak...
1/Will they loosen all of the housing bolts and re torque them all down again??
2/ remove the two offending bolts and apply some high temp sealant and reinstall the bolts???....
3/ Oh well, nothing we can do other then replace the transmission again.
I hope the link for the photo worked!
