I am thinking about building a b20 vtec and i would like to know the specs of the b20 compression hp and how the build would be hard and worth the build

what are you planning on doing need more info on what you plans are n/a turbo, n2o, if your going to turbo it or run the bottle then i wouls highly recommened doing a full rebuild and resleeveing it and are new to building then do a lot of research before you do it if you are going all motor then you will be allright with a stock block and i believe its about 9.1.1 compression ratio on a 92mm crank at 84mm bore all a b20 is a stroked b18a/b a ls block has better sleeves then the b20 to when i built my b20/vtec i had a stock block on a fully built gsr head and i had it dyno tuned and i made 234whp and 158 foot lbs of tourqe but i crack cylinder 3 sleeve taking it to 8 grand all motor

no im not planning on turbo or spray i am running all motor with a fully built b16 head i was leaning more toward the LS/Vtec but the b20 block i could get a hold of i dont plan on resleeving what i know is u have to run an oil line from the back of the block to the top of my head and get dowl pins for the head to sit on because the dowls in the b20 block and ls block are bigger than the b16 block but i heard its a simple build and it would give me major torque but i was simply wondering if it would be a better build then a straight b16 cause im looking for more power than i have already

well whats your set up right now? and if you dont want to run the outter oil like do a somthing i think is a little better and a major sleeper take b16 pistons have then put on ls rods and use the ls crank and put it in a gsr block and run a b16 head it kinda like a stroked poor mans type r or a ls/vtec in a gsr block and will make good power and it will have a good pull up to 8grand maybe a lil more and you wont have to worry about the dowl pins or tapping the head or run an outter oil line its a perfect setup to me

Right now my setup is a straight b16 not really many mods megan header and aem intake but thats about it i ran a 14.7 all stock and had it dynod at 171 hp but only 128 lbs of toqure im trying to balance out the diff i want to build a motor with a little more horsepower and alot more toqure im wanting around 150-155 lbs and i hear the ls/vtecs and the b20/vtecs put out around that much torque but idk how much ponnys that are putting out!

lol i should just buy an H22a and call it a day

How can either of you understand anything the other person is saying? There's not a single punctuation mark in that exchange.

FYI, you will get more responses in the future if you clean up your paragraphs.

I didnt know that run on sentances made any difference on a car website! But alright, If this make's you feel better, then I will start using my "correct" gramar and punctuation marks. Since it's so hard for you too understand !

This off topic but if you click the ABC / check mark button above the text box while writing a reply, then it will at least spell check it for you.

yea shure a k20 is a great, build but most people don't have 8 grand to drop in to a swap that's with my connections if no connections your looking close to ten grand i would much rather build a motor from scratch and be able to do what i want with it i am re-sleeve my block right now well i am sending it off Monday to Dan Benson to have it re-sleeved 86mm bore and putting a 92mm eagle crank in it on scat rod and je 13.5.1 compression, all micropolished and shoppiend i think that's how you spell it and going to take it to 10000rpm on a fully built gsr head, 3 angle valves, skunk2 dual valve, springs crower 403 full drag cams, supertech lightweight titanium retainers, rc 310 injectors. i don't know what kind of numbers to expect when its dyno tuned

300 for the head

with that you should be able to run faster than 12.8 just gut it out and also you should try to find a b20z they have higher compression

I'm thinking about doing this build in my del sol.... any suggestions on where to place the rev limiter when having it tuned? I've heard you can bring the stock bottom end up to 7500 without any real worries.... but I was thinking about doing rods and pistons anyway and trying for 8k.... stock head for now.... build a head later
