ok this may be a stupid question.....
i usually drive civics, but i just picked up a 92 prelude. when i try and check the codes - im jumping the two wires together under the center consol - it blinks alot slower than the civic and only seems to blink once each cycle. is this just code 10? or am i doing it wrong? just wondering if there is anything different from the civics. thanks.

I do believe if it is one slow blink, it is a 10. On my prelude, when it blinks for a 1, it blinks very quickly and for when it blinks a 10 it just stays lit for a considerable amount of time compared to the quick one blink.
ooh oops read wrong
if its just long blinks.. see how much time is in between each long blink. if theres a few seconds in between then ur looking at code 10. if theres like a 1second gap or so in between, count until u get a long gap. gl

u get a conductor (copper works) and u link 1 end into each of the terminals so it makes a loop
like this:
|_|_| <-- plug thingy
--U--
the U is ur conductor/copper wire or w/e
the -- is nothing
