So, I made the biggest mistake of my life.... I bought a '02 Auto RSX. I love the Tegs, but was conned into buying this one in my search for a Type-S. Does anyone know how difficult a Tranny swap will be? Help!

looks like you may be screwd pretty bad cause even if you convert the tranny you still only have a 6-speed base model which wont really be a type s cause all you have is a type is tranny ... i just selling it and buying a actual type s ... how did you end up with this one in the first place ... well if you want to keep this one your gonna have to modify alot more than just the tranny to become a type s and even if you do modify most of the car you would probably go with more cheaper and higher performance parts rather than the type s oem a-spec parts ... and that would mean your car still isnt type s (it would be better than one) ... am i making sense ... ... anyway i hope you get what im saying and decide which would be better for you and your budget ... good luck

 

I wasn't actually "conned"... It just a really good deal. It was at an Acura dealer and the teg is certified and it's got bumper to bumber warranty from Acura. Then they killed me on Dealer fees and crap. Turns out the REALLY good deal they gave me came out to cost me what any teg would have cost me.

 

Thanks dude. I know what you mean, but I wouldn't swap a 6 speed into it. I'm just looking for a cheap way to get a clutch in the Teg. I sold my Del Sol about a month ago and I had a D15 in it with nothing but suspension mods so I'm ok with low HP at the wheels. The thing I really miss is the control over the vehicle with a Man Tranny. The freaking Automatic tranny drives me NUTS! If anybody has ever driven an automatic RSX they know what I'm talking about. 'Till V-TEC hits this thing is a cow.

 

d15 del sol haha i have one thats wrecked in my driveway right now haha anyways just go trade it in on a type s model, thats your best bet.

LMAO true tho, my sister drives a 06 PWP dc5 thats "auto" but imo i think that conversion wouldnt be worth it. just sell your current car and get a type s.
