Automatic Rsx wanting to swap to manual tranny
Hey guys as you can tell from my name... im a b series guy... so im not familiar with hands on work on the k20's. But i have a friend who has a base rsx automatic... who is wanting to swap to a manual tranny. He asked me how much it is and what tranny would be best suited for it... I don't have an honest opinion on what to tell him... anyone have any ideas?? Cause from what i heard you could use the ep3 tranny???? Also wanting to see how much this would cost... and where could he find one...
sorry for posting a rhetorical statement.. but just looking for some answers

Convince your friend to sell the Auto Base and get the Type S. Even if he swaps the tranny to manual, he'll still be stuck with the base k20a3 engine. The tranny isn't going to give him more power then he already has.

Re: (dc2_97teg)
hahah bastards.
the thing is i am lacking the money needed to sell my car and buy a type s. unless i get a salvaged one or one with a lot of miles, but that would still be more than my car is worth.
and with a type s tranny maybe someone out there can sell it for cheap and i can at least have a manual car. and worry about how fast it is later. maybe a a2 engine and tranny for cheap would help. but i dont know how this site works so i dont know how to post things or make forums and stuff. haha.
but i do want a type s

the problem would be finding the parts to swap it, you cant find 2 many rsx's in a junk yard to buy as a doner car and if you did you would be paying alot just to get the car. im currently looking into a auto to man. swap for my da, but i can go to a juck yard and buy the car for 100 bux..... like everyone said just trade it in, if you dont have the money for the difference between the base and the type s, just get a 5 speed base and boost it.

Yea that could always work... Never thought of him to get a a base rsx and boost it... but then again... he really wants a type s. But i'm pretty sure he would understand. Especially if money is an issue.
