Just bought a completely stock 2000 honda civic si. So i took it to New York to see how the engine runs and blew the rings on the way back, being dumb... ok whatever im upgrading it anyway, i have another vehicle so... i dont know much about cars but have a love for honda racing. my question to all is how do i fix the rings while upgrading? i dont want to just fix the stock rings on stock pistons soo what do i do? buy new pistons? what parts do i need? to fix my problem while upgrading the engine. obviously i will need to buy new pistons but there are so many different sizes 80mm to 85mm whats that? what other parts should i purchase while im in there and any other affects...

can i have some suggestions on parts and processes please thanks

If your looking for a moderate upgrade then Id say go with some JDM P30 Pistons and Rings. Your standard B16 bore size is 81MM. While the pistons are out and what not you should also re hone your cylinder walls if needed, if thats the case then you should get the 0.025 over pistons.

Have a local mechanic or repuitable builder do it for you.

 

i am having someone else do it but im trying to do the reasearch myself to figure out what i need to do along with what i want to do and what parts to use
