Default Type-R Civic B16b Pistons In GS-R

I wanna put the ctr pistons in my gsr would I have to replace the rods as well, or could i use my B18c1 rods?

You can use the stock B18C1 rods with the B16B pistons... Unless you have an wild set of cams your motor is going to be under cammed...

actually for stock cams the ctr cams are very aggressive, more so than itr cams, so it may be fine.

ive done this before you will prolly have to have the small end of the rod machined down a little for it ot go up into he piston

you might want to to a compression check, the CTR pistons are the most aggressive CR-wise out of all the OEM b-series pistons....you might be pushing pump gas driveability.

your gonna be looking at about 12 to 1 compression some tuning will need to be done if your gonna run pump gas. a gsr head has a smaller quinch area than a type r does so because of that you will be running higher compression than a stock type r would

3 degrees duration more on the intake side is not aggressive

ctr pistons in a gsr is closer to 13:1

it's pushing the limits of what's safe. go with 11:1 and be safer and make just as much power.
