Default Honda Civic Type-R Coming to the States in 2010

As most of you may heard, the Honda Civic Type-R may come to the states in 2010. The new CTR incorporates a 2.0L iVTEC, 220 HP engine and will come in a four-door sedan.

I was looking forward to purchasing a 2008 Honda Civic Si Mugen Sedan but might just wait until the CTR is available in the states. Any thoughts?

I doubt it we will ever get a Civic Type R in USA. And even if we do its going to be overpriced like crazy, probably in the territory of EVO or STI or maybe even more, I mean just look at the Mugen Si, that shoukld explain it all.

Just be happy that we got the current Si with the K20.

By 2010? Wow by then the car will be redesigned. At $30k for the Mugen, I'd hate to see what the CTR would cost.

i'll believe it when i see it
also... by 2010
the 2.0L iVTEC, 220 HP engine will more than likely be outdated

heck, i think the k-motor is about to get outdated now seeing how f/i is becoming more and more common in similar classes

Mugen prices have been released to some dealers at the $26k mark.

American Hype R, I can only imagine how owners of those would be compared to ITR's. I'll have a 911 by then anyway.

Yeah, by 2010 we will have so many power options a type-r will just be a past fancy memory. The only reason it would be fun to have one by then is if it was true JDM, right hand drive and all.

I agree with Demonis, It would have to be a one of a kind in the US market for import cars. By 2010 some of us may be looking into a higher class of cars. We will all be in Sti, Evo, or even BMW (Twin Turbo Now) forums lol

how do you plan on pulling that off? You're 18 now so that puts you at what, maybe 21 when you're claiming you'll have a 911. Didn't you say you were putting on a turbo and doing headwork before you take your car to Germany in a few months?

I know you said you work 65+ hours a week, but still.. what the hell do you do? sell drugs?

I'm gonna have to call BS on the article the OP posted too. The euro civic type r is a hatchback with a k20z4 (almost the same as US si), but yet they talk about a sedan with 220hp as if they were selling both in europe. I think the writer was misinformed

It probably helps when you're still living with your parents and you've got housing, food, etc. all paid for. If I didn't have any of those expenses, I'd be rolling in a F430 right now.

It would make a good play thing. However I would like to have a TL-S by then. Really love the TL, but don't want to miss the sport feel.

I can't tell if your post is drenched with sarcasm or actual frustration?

I remember people talking about the DC5R's and how they'd be here in 2004 or something. Yeah, never happened. I hope to see another R in the states, but I'm not holding my breath.
