it would surely be faster than an LS swap. Same HP...more torque.

It's a fantastic, overlooked swap.

With a good cam, header, and some tuning you can make some good power with it. It also responds to bolt ons and handles boost very well.

Great swap IMO. Can set you apart. AND you're still saving the SOHC

If that's the newer Accord engine, my friend is currently having this swap finished up. We are supposed to go pick it up tomorrow from the guy putting it together for him. Supposed to be featured in Honda Tuner magazine in the next couple months.

Yes, they are great swaps due to the torque the engine makes.

you're probably not going to be able to have A/C with that swap.

About 3-4 years ago, I put an f23 into my friends 5th gen civic.
Only pic I have:

Just about the same as an h22 swap.

The car was fun to drive with lots of midrange power.
It was a blast at autocross!!

Id say better then h22 for boosting. You dont have to do as much building to run boost without f'in up your motor.

Plus, nothing is as cool as beating someone with a single cam I beat an LS in my stock d15 EJ1 yesterday. It made my week.

Probably if you're going all out.

I've had several h22'ers attest to making 330whp on stock internals.

frm sleeves are actually stronger. You just cant use aftermarket forged pistons.

F-series can handle up to around 10psi tuned on stock block
And yes i think that the F22B is a great overlooked motor which is the only reason i love accords just wish they had more parts readily available for them but i love how the stock motor performs and sounds with a I/H/E

http://videos.streetfire.net/v...9.htm
I love the way they make the accord in this video sound even though the exhaust is kinda ricey

For the record F22A6 is really the best F22 motor, but if you already have a B1 then it's not worth the trouble of switching. The main thing i'd reccomend is an H22 transmission (maybe upgrade later) Most accord guys that switch drop about .3-.5 seconds in the quarter, plus it will just make it more fun to drive.

Yes, AC can be kept. You just have to get a few lines done. My friend is keeping his...

Probably H22; that is what he is running in his. Only drawback is 4k rpm at 70.

He could run a b series tranny im sure a h2b kit would work on the f22.

i would rather have that final drive ratio then my 98 spec itr tranny that had a 4.7 final. now the itr tranny is at a 4.9 using spoons final drive and im doing 65mph and almost 5200rpm in 5th. im pretty curious on this topic cause i have a 97 4dr lx and the motor is going in it. was just gonna swap an h22 into it but i have been hearing good things on the f-block.

what's your 5th gear ratio?

F22 is a good engine. F/H transmissions are garbage though.

i have no idea what my 5th gear ratio is im pretty sure none of the gears were swapped out aside from whatever came with the spoon 4.9 kit. i had it done by a machine shop and had them put in new synchros cause i bought the tranny used for 250 and the kid said there were no grinds and sure enough the pretty much was a grind in every gear thats how bad it was. i wanted to kill the kid but he lived too far away and i didnt feel like drivin to get money bak so i just ate it.
