lets here your complaints about the insurance companies
ive got many but ill just throw in one really quick. i hate doing any kind of progvressive jobs cause they never write the estimate to do the full repair the proper way. they always give partial paint time and always want u to blend within the panel. sorry but 3 inches isnt enough blending room

lol, I'm with ya all the way on that. Progressive is by far the worst insurance company out there when it comes to repairs. We actually kicked one of their appraisers out of our shop and told him to never come back, because he argued with us about blending panels.
They told us that any "good" painter can panel paint and have a perfect color match. Even if you're putting a brand new fender on, they won't let blend the hood or the door. Not saying that panel painting isn't possible, but you can't always get a perfect color match. So yeah,
to Progressive.

Its a never ending battle, the indrustry is evolving. Some don't realize it depends mostly on the color if the repair can be blended or panel painted. I think the Ins. reps should have to deliver the cars, LOL.

Haha, yeah I hear ya. There's nothing worse than trying to deliver a car that you repaired and the fender and door are 2 different shades, then try to explain to the angry customer that their insurance company blows ***...

yea progressive does that bullshit. a few weeks ago we got a subaru in at the shop and they wanted us to blend when there was only like 2inches of the top of the quarter panel left. those fucken jobs are a pain in the ***
i think that some colors can be matched but it takes to long to tint and most insurance companies wont pay tint time on a color. i used to work at the cadillac dealership in town, and allstate was one of our drp's and suprisingly, they would pay us time to tint on a color. the only color that i wouldnt blend on is black. other than that id blend everything else. another thing i cant stand that the insurance companies do is, lets say ur painting a fender, they'll give u blend time for the front door but not on the hood. what makes them think that the color wont match on the rear door but it will match on the hood?
I'm not saying its right, but the hood to fender area is the least noticeable color match area. I think the biggest color match problem area is the bumper to fender, or quarter area. Try asking an adjuster for blend time there
btw, Progressive sucks ***. Geico RX FTW!!!!!

yea i here you. i like statefarm. mainly because they will not use used or aftermarket parts unless we cant find a new one. i hate messing with aftermarket and used. we r not a drp for geico so i dont know too much with them. we do some work for geico but not alot. another i cant stand that progressive does is give u partial paint time on a panel that has damage on it. or when they pay u .5 to cut in a jamb.
Were a drp facility for state farm, and get good work out of it, but there changing all there policies for the worse. If you cant deliver the car on there due date the shop has to pay for the rental, not to mention a bunch of other bs.
yea we are a drp for statefarm, progressive, and allstate and statefarm is probably the best to work with
