Default HELP with Mini-ME!

Ok I did a Mini-Me swap with my D15b7 block and i used a D15b Vtec head, and a P28 ECU. I have everything installed correctly and the Vtec is wired up correct also. My problem is that vtec doesn't kick in. I have no CEL's and car runs fine. I have done everything correctly or at least i'm pretty sure i have, but vtec is not working at all. I need to know what is wrong, i've put over $700 into this and its not working right. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

How's your oil level?

I assume you're letting the car warm up completely?

Also, how do you know it's not engaging? It won't be an obvious transition.

my oil level on the dipstick? its reading fine.. its at half right now. the car is completely warmed up, I cannot hear it engage at all, but i have i/h/e skunk2 exhaust which is ******* loud so idk if i wouldn't hear it over that or not.. but i went to this bridge thats a 1/4 mile and tryed it out tonight, when i had my old head on i could get 80 mph on the bridge and now i can only get 75 mph so i know the vtec isnt engaging.

Check your oil pressure. Then check the VTEC oil screen.

Those are just about the only things that can make VTEC not engage but not throw a CEL.

LoL - 700 on a mini-me...damn man, you didn't plan that one too well. BTW: You would have been better off with a Z6 head.

Why do you say?

Joecivic94: You could have converted the auto ECU to a manual, but I guess it's too late now.

The following prerequisites need to be met in order for VTEC to engage:
1) Sufficient oil pressure
2) Completely warm engine
3) Throttle poisition must be sufficient
4) Must be going over ~20mph
5) Sufficient engine speed

Since you have no CEL's, the only thing that I can see which would prevent it from engaging would be the oil pressure. Other than that, I don't know what could be keeping it from engaging.

Good luck.

I ignored that detail at first, but now I have to mention it...

Drive to a track if you want to have fun. Otherwise, drive safely for your and everybody else's sake. If you expletive up once, you or somebody else could easily be dead.

It's not worth the risk.
