so i went for a drive today in my R and all of a sudden on the way to my buddies house its starts sputtering really bad to the point where its stalling out everytime i stop and then try to go again. I'll try to describe whats going on the best i can at a stop it idles fine but as soon as you touch the gas it either stumbles really bad or dies, if i do get it going again it makes a grumbling growling backfiring noise and then dies. So now it's having problems even starting i dont know what to do. Also it seemed like for a second there was smoke coming out of my air filter and yes there is a bit of white smoke coming out of the exhaust after 6k. So there it is any help or ideas would greatly be appreciated.

Check your Cap and rotor sounds like it slipped.

 

it could be any of the following
-water in the spark plug hole
-lose spark wire somewhere.
-worn cap/rotor

let me know if i missed any

 

plugs, wires, cap, rotor, for sure if your alreayd going to do this normal maintainence change your fuel filter and put some good gas in there
