Default part # to fix hatch leak!

Anyone know the part number for the tail light gaskets on the CRX? I think that's the problem most people been having on why their hatch leak so I want to replace them. Because that's the problem for me. ANyways let me know and if you know a place where it's a bit cheaper let me know. Checked already with the local dealers still in the $50s-$60s so yeah. ANyways TIA and let me know

have you thought about using silicon?

if you want gaskets check out http://hondapartsdeals.com ,they've always had good prices.

I went to walmart and bought a bag of "craft foam".

It's just sheets of foam, exactly like the stock gaskets. I took the stockers, traced them on the sheets with a sharpie and cut it out with scissors. Done. Cost $4.99.

I'll look if I can find it there..and see if I'm willing to pay for them...no part number? Okay....Yeah I was thinking about using silicon to seal it at first but gasket were old and DRY cuz CRX is from AZ and damn thing needs a new paint job too and bad so faded it's almost like pink in color But at least it's almost rust free

When I pulled them out and saw the condition of it I was actually thinking to myself "I could just cut this out with some sort of foam"

Well I give the parts a looky first and see first and if I'm too cheap to order them then I'll see if I can find the right foam and give it a try first before I order? (which I was going to order them)

Yeah, that exact stuff. I had to use three layers because they ran out of the thick stuff.

I haven't had a single drop of water since!

It's actually denser and "rubberier" than the stock gasket. I've had it for over a year now, in both freezing temps and in 100+ temps, no issues.

Oh forgot I take it those, the foam you use are adhesive right??? If it is it would probaly be better? since it stick and there's really no space for rain/water to seep in VS having it just laying against it where water still can leak in overtime......I would think =P

You don't need adhesive. I smeared a small amount of silicone between them to keep them together.

No???They pictures showed was the one with the adhesive so I went and got those, but it's shorter then the ones without the adhesive which fit for the corner tailight so I went and got them instead(none adhesive)....so you silicone in between but did you silicone a bit on the backing before you place it or no? Just woundering....well okay thanks I'll do that....3 layers/silicone okay THANKS

It doesn't matter if it's got adhesive or not.

Just use as many layers as it take to equal the stock thickness or a little bit bigger. It's not really rocket science. To hold them together I just smeared a little silicone between the sheets. Then bolt it in like a stock gasket once they dry.

yeah I figure =P "It's not really rocket science" but when you guys had that picture on I went looking for that which I did get and had to do the running back and forth to get the none adhesive one which was the bigger one that FIT because I forgot to measure how long the corner tailights were =P BUT okay THANKS
