odd problem w/ b16 in a CRX
OK, I searched first, got nothing. My buddys got a 90 CRX Si with a b16, first gen.. its got a cable ys1, and I'm assuming hes using the intermediate shaft that came with the b16. he was having a problem with the drivers side. when its moving it makes a thumping noise that progresses as you go faster, and you kind of feel it. like a flat spot in the tire, a really bad flat spot. new tires didnt fix it. thought it was a bent axle, new axles didnt fix it. put another knuckle on it with a known good wheel bearing and the problem still exists. Now the axles he is using have ABS rings on them, but he said there 90 integra. I didnt think integras had ABS until 92, I dont know if that changes anything, and I know the ABS rings themselfs dont make the axles any longer. But would incorrect axle length(to long) cause that problem? AND when I was putting the knuckle on it was really hard to turn, I turned it all the way to the left with just the top and bottem balljoints finger tight and it got hard to turn when it got straight and going to the right. i'm thinking he may have to use the 89 integ shafts and 90 joints, but i dont want him to buy anything else that wont fix it. sorry about the long post, but I want to get everything out the first time. thanks
