Default A bunch of questions...(y7 into 91 Si)

Im already gona use the a6 intake mani to make it easy for sensors... but what do i do for the alternator and crank position sensor???

just run the motor like its a d16a6. it basicly is. use all a6 parts dizzy and alternator

not for sure cause ive never owned a y7 but it should. cps you mean dizzy? it all works on a d15b7 so i think it will work.

yes, its inside the dizzy... so use your a6 dizzy and its not a problem.

wow im out of it... i was looking at my y7 and theres a wire that goes down the back side of the pulley side and goes into the motor... up on top ( right under the intake mani ) there a grey clip wich im gona guess isnt gona just clip into the a6 harness... what is it and what do i do with that?

i believe thats the cps on obd2 cars. obd 0 and 1(i think) have it inside the distributor like stated above. correct me if im wront. just throw everything on the y7 that was on your old motor. i just replaced mine with a y7.

you have to use the y7 alternator i tried using my stock alternator and it dosent have the right amount of ribs for the belt.

that's for the crank angle sensor. you don't need to hook that up. because your obd0 system doesn't use it... also same goes with obd1 doesn't use that sensor either.

u will have to mess with the dizzy to fit perfect use a dermal and drill the holes on the dizzy casting so i fits to the head and the driver side mount will have to be un screwed from the block and put in the d16a6 one don't forget that. and the water temp will have to be relocated just make two more wires with plugs on both side so it plug in the wiring harness and then it can plug to the thermostat housing

oh yeh if u go ask some shop about the swap they will tell u it is imposable to do that
or ask junk yard for the y7 or y8 for your crx they will tell u the same ha

alright... well heres the thing... i actually have 2 EF Si's a 91 and an 89... the 89 si is a complete car where id be getting all my a6 parts... but the car has 209,000 miles on it soo would i be better off getting a new dizzy and alternator?

thats really up to you, alternators are cheap but dist. arent and yes the si dist. fits like butter on the y7 i have mine in with all 3 bolts on the z6 you can only get one bolt in.

alright... or could you just change the pully from the a6 alternator to the y7 alternator?? or no? ill probly just get both new... there not cheap but not super expensive either... id rather just have fresh parts
