Default water in trunk

i washed my car and then proceeded to vacuum it out. when i got to the trunk, i found a small puddle of water right by the passenger side tail light. it sat right where a rubber plug was located so i pulled the plug and the water immediately drained right out. i'm puzzled as where that water would've came in from. there's no rust, no hole, no dent or smash etc... could it have come in thru the lights? any ideas where there may be a point of entry?

Make sure the side of your trunk are flush with the tops of the rear quarters.... This wasn't a problem on my lude, but my civic leaked like a bitch for a long time, and I finally just put some pressure on the two front corners and pushed them down a little bit and the leaking stopped.

Honestly the best way to tell exactly where it's coming from, is put your back seat down, close your trunk, climb in there best you can with a flash light, and have someone spray outside with a hose. Goodluck, trunk leaks are annoying as hell. Don't ever want to put anything back there for fear of mildew, not to mention your carpet mildewing.

The seals of the taillights are known to leak. I had to replace mine. I also checked both drain hoses on either side of the trunk. I noticed both of my hoses that dump into the rear quarter panels had come disconnected from the heat.

Hope that helps.....

most likely its the sunroof drain right next to the antenna motor...they end at one way valves that can get clogged. worked for me

also check your antenna
