Default compression test problems. search is down.

Hello all. I have a jdm h22 in my 94 civic. Im trying to do a compression test. I removed the spark plugs. Removed the ECU fuse. Screwed in the compression tester. While i hold the gas to the floor and crank the engine 5 times nothing happens at all. i tried this in 2 cylinders so i think im doing something wrong. any ideas? thanks in advance guys.

Why are you holding the gas to the floor. I would say your compression tester is bad, or your motor needs rebuilt.

im following this guide http://www.c-speedracing.com/h...t.php and it says to hold the gas down while cranking the engine. i did not receive any results from any cylinder. i figure if i did not have any compression at all, the car would not be running well but the car appears to run perfectly. right now im leaning towards im missing a step somehow or the compression tester itself is bad.

i figured it out, was all my mistake. i forgot to hold the clutch down.
on a better note, i got cylinder1 265 cylinder2 275 cylinder3 275 cylinder4 275. results seem good to my knowledge.

because those numbers are pretty high for a stock H22a , could be several factors that cause it though.

the engine was cold, so i think that may be why they are so high. could anything bad come from high numbers?

lol you didn't notice the engine not turning over?

Those numbers are extremely high, though the type of tester and altitude/climate all can skew the results. What you're looking for is consistency, every cylinder within 5% is great, 10% is acceptable. You have a good engine on your hands
