Default Question about exhaust midsections and resonators.....

The car is a '99 LX, auto. On the highway the other day, the exhaust pipe disconnected from rear-end of the resonator. Looked it up on hondautomotiveparts and found this picture.

#17 in the pic is the all inclusive midsection of the exhaust pipe.....resonator and everything. However, #18 seems to be the one for the non-vtec engine, but looks like the same part and just happens to be not listed (only #17 is listed and it has an EX in the description).

My question is....are they the same part? I know pictures are terrible judgements of actual parts, so that's why I'm asking. Ugrading the exhaust is not an option

Any information would be helpful...thanks guys

# 17 looks like the pipe for a Honda with the Cat converter built into the exhaust manifold. #18 is for a Honda with the cat after the exhaust manifold I believe that that one is for the EX

#17 looks like it has a built in resonator. My DX doesn't have that. Did that not come on the hatches?

And what's the website you found that illustration on. I'm looking for all the parts around the hatch glass for my car.

Yeah, the description should not say it's for an EX. The description should be "PIPE B, EX." That doesn't mean it's for the EX, it means it's for exhaust.

PIPE B, EX. = Exhaust Pipe B

The correct part number for your car should be 18220-S01-A21

Nope, I just need the little thing that goes into the glass that the strut screws into. It's more to ship it than it is to go to my dealer an pick up.

$15 for what should be a dolar plastic part
