Default idle issues

i was wondering if anyone had the same problem as me. i have a 98 prelude and for some reason my car has trouble idling or something esp on hot days my car dies all the time when i idle, on cooler days it dosnt seem to have alot of problems dealing with the idle. also when i drive for a long time and the motor is hot to operating temp, if i turn off the car for like 5 mins and come back n start it up my idle goes down real low and almost dies? any help??? thanks

IACV? idle screw? is your car modified or completely stock?

could be a number of things. poor connectivity in your main relay closely fits those symptoms. it's more noticeable in hot weather and usually causes starting problems, low idling and stalling. there are "how to's" all over the internet to repair it yourself. just do a search.

good luck im battling a idle similar to that. when car is under no load after driving (pushing in pedal at stop light) idle will bounce from ~100 rmps to ~600 rpms died once. ive cleaned iacv, fitv, egr, new plugs, new wires, new rotor, checked over vacuums, new ect. nada nothings fixed. i just got done cleaned iacv again and using a silicon sealer to make a new gasket. im hoping it wasnt sealing fully and had a leak its curing right now ill let ya know if that helps.

it's also a sign of worn thrust bearings.
