Shady's Back! Project Turtle - Revisited
OK, well after opening the new shop here in FL, me and my partner decided that it 'd be a good idea to go ahead and revitalize "Project Turtle"

This car has come a long way, thats for sure... lol.

and now we are rebuilding her...faster...stronger...more powerful...

We are going with a "panda" theme, and also taking it further with a little of the theme of the transformers police car and doing it up close to that but with our twist of course.
We are doing a K20 and not sure if we are adding a turbo or NOS for this first setup.
Further updates will be done as well... So anyway, thats where we're at
And yes, this time it WILL get to see the track finally... hahaha!

Thanks guys
I'll definitely keep y'all updated... And thanks especially for the front end... we custom built that sucker from scratch... lol! I'm not building it for any class or anything, just wanting it to be a fun car to go down the track with, and mess with different motors.
I already have mounts for B, and K motors, and i'll be building mounts for a D as well. I'm just curious about various engine combinations... lol! Like the first motor going in will basically be a stock K20A... we'll put a small turbo on it and just see what a basic motor combo can do with the car... and then from there, just have fun. The first motor may even be a nitrous setup
hahha!
cschaible: Yes, the doors are very functional, and very sturdy... by FAR the best doors on the market! If they are still available, they will be able to be purchased through "Franks Fiberglass".... http://www.frankscustomfiberglass.com/crx.htm...
By the way, if you guys are wanting to see more of the build and the "life" of thiscar, check out the gallery section on our website of this car

beautiful, just like all the work it seems like you do.
Why is the front end so wide? Im not one bit educated on front wheel (or even rw) drag racing. THe slicks arent that wide are they, I mean even at Nopi the factory scion and cobalt teams have the fenders like a foot wider than the wheels? Im sure it is aerodynamics, but in what manner? If you would rather provide me a link of some sort instead of cluttering your thread that would be awesome and really appreciated. It does really look like a turtle, quite unique I must say, but very well liked by me. Props for all the work you do, simply amazing. If i ever strike a fat dime, I know who is building me some cars LOL!

Or "project cowcatcher".
I may have missed it, but what happened to the blue K20 CRX build-up you were working on?

note- that wasnt an insult, the thing looks wicked.

Hondamonster: i like your avatar by the way... hehe. Anyway, no , i don't take it as an insult... my skin is a bit thicker than that anyway
It does look wicked, but more importantly as funky as it looks, it does serve a purpose.... to help keep the front end pushed towards the ground at speed.
wiZCo: It is sitting directly in front of the race car in these pics... It is still being worked on as well
I'm working on a new pedal assembly for it and the race car, and then its on to other things.
gator88: The front is so wide because of the slicks... the front end suspensin and stiff is still as wide as OEM, so when you run the wider slicks, it pushes out farther. If it was full-tube front, and like the Pro-FWD guys, i could run a narrower front end... but yea, with this setup the wheels will be closer to the outside of the fenders. Definitely give us a shout if you want something done!

I sent you an IM, but in case you dont get it, I do alot of auto design and drawing....I am available to do some design on this car, any angle, color and all...let me know...btw, that front end is awesome, very aggresive!
you got a nose wheelie-bar for that thing? lol damn... the whole car is the engine bay. aren't there any front end weight issues? good work tho
