check engine light shows a code that has to do with engine oil pressure although no problem can be found. light only comes on after a right hand turn. It in turn will not let you go over 5000 rpms as it will cut out. We have changed oil filter, replaced head gasket( as honda reccomended) but it still comes on after a right turn Has anyone a suggestion as to what to look for?

 

If it is showing for oil pressure, try adding a little bit more. Is it running low?

 

Does it only do it on hard righ turns or all right turns?

Is a a v6 or 4cyl?

Ive had this happen on my 4 cylinder cars but only when making hard left turns since the pickup is on the drivers side and sloshes to the pass side on hard left turns.

I would find it kinda odd (on a 4cyl) that its just from making right turns since it would actually make the oil slosh to the drivers side and thats where the pickup is so you wouldnt loose oil pressure.

HAve you at least made sure that you did have a full 4.5 quarts in there?

 

mine did this too, bugged me a bit... as they said, check the oil level... i know mines low...

 

it basicly does it on a right turn such as getting on an interstate ramp, the oil is full and has recently been changed. honda suggested a faulty filter but that has been replaced also. The engine itself has 180,000 miles on it but is in great condition . It runs great even with the light on except you can't push it past the 5000 rpm's without it cutting out.

 

when you mean cutting out.. do you mean the car is shutting off?

no, it's like a govener, after the light comes on it won't let you go over 5000 rpms it just cuts out so you can't accererate over so many rpms you can still go as fast as you want , just can't accererate hard.
