fuel pump problem

Default fuel pump problem

Why is it that when ever my car is really hot on the inside the damn fuel pump will not come on. Has anyone had this problem, and if so how do i fix it. The car a 92 prelude, stock f.p.

how many miles on the car? has the pump ever been replaced? it could be starting to fail. It also kinda sounds like an electrical and heat problem. Have you removed the cover in the trunk to see if there is a loose connection?

yes i have removed the cover, the connection is goodthe car has like 2xx,xxx miles on it but i had replaced it with a walbro 255 and it shut off when ever it felt like so i put the stock one back in and it was fine for about a yr and now its doing it again

the car will start after an hr of cooling down so if it was the main relay wouldn't it just not start

Nope, this just happened to me yesturday. Fule Pump won't prime up because the Main relay is not turning it on. Your relay is not shot, but on its way. H-T's Search function is down right now, but if you Search on the Main Relay, you'll get many results.

quick question then.... where is it, i called the local honda dealer and they said it was somewhere under the dash, is it in the fuse box under the dash?

i hear its a PITA to remove completely, so ppl just unplug the bad one, plug the new one in, and zip-tie it up in there
