is $800 a good price for a ls long block??
this junkyard near my house is selling a ls long block for $800. its off a 2000 LS with only 20k ish miles. if i buy it what else do i need to make it fit in my del slo?
You can get JDM B18A/B longblocks for about that from nippon motors. You can get JDM B16 longblock for $475 though from jdmhondaparts.com.
The low miles helps so the $800 isn't too bad (at least in my area). You could find an older one cheaper I bet. It all depends on if you plan to build the engine or just swap it in as is. IMO Pricing would differ alot depending on the area of the country, I'm not familar with Texas.
As is - low milage LS
Build it - higher milage, cheaper LS

Strait from some old Honda technical articals....
"B series - This family also had a 1.8-L version, the standard unit for the U.S. Integra, and in DOHC, 16-valve, non-VTEC form it powers the Japanese-market-only Domani sedan. The B18A, 1834-cc unit has a long stroke of 89 mm and 81-mm bore"
Hence a JDM B18A
