Default Code 67 on 2000 EL.. Not sure what to do...

Hey Guys,

Shorted the CEL clip and pulled a code 67 on a 2000 EL.

My info says "67 is Catalyic converter efficency low"

Anyone ever experienced this? Is 67 Catalyic converter efficency low?

Not sure what the next step would be..

Is this car stock? How many miles? Any maintenance recently done?

The ECU uses the rear O2 sensor to check for converter health. So it could mean your cat is heading south or it could mean your O2 is taking a dive...or both. In the Helms, it has you using a scantool to check for the output voltage while holding the engine speed at 3k. If that checks out alright, then it has you shorting together a couple of pins and checking the voltage again.

Check out hondatech.info to get the manual, if you don't have one.
