Whats the most power you've made with an ACT clutch setup?? B-series hydro tranny??
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum but it made the most sense to put it here.

I made around 480whp and ran 10.9 before it started to slip. It was the xt-pressure plate with a 6 pux.

Has anyone tried the Maxx xtreme clutches yet, any issues with them?

Good to hear JDogg, how does the pedal pressure feel, compared to a ACT Xtreme clutch?

No one else uses ACT anymore, 150 views and only a couple replies?

personally i havent driven it on the street, just on the dyno.. but it feels good, its not too heavy and dosnt grab too quick. if you cant afford a twin disk this is probably the best way to go.

I have a twin disc right now and it is a pain to drive on the street... I'm looking into going back to a single disc, as I most likely won't ever push this car past 650 if even that. And with my work I don't get to hit the races too often anyways. So it is more a daily driver than a track car.

You people DO know that clutches are not ranked on HP. Right?

They are ranked on Torque. Learn, then speak.

my xtreme pp 4puck lasted all day at 500whp till i started making passes on 25" slicks, then it **** the bed. you cant even compare the pedal effort on that stiff *** act to a twin. i would never use anything but a twin now.

657whp 400tq

ACT xtreme pressure plate (not maxx xtreme) w/ 6 puck unsprung disc & streetlite flywheel

bunch of dyno passes, street driving and dragstrip passes.

clutch felt really good and i had no complaints.

740WHP and 490 TQ. Maxx Extreme pressure plate W / 6puck will hold the power on the dyno but not for to long on the track. Made lots of 10.3-10.4-10.5 passes but doesn't hold up for long. The one problem I would get would be when I'm on the 2 step, the car would start to move. I would use nothing but a Twin disk right now. It really depends on how fast you want to go.

I guess I'm just going to have to make the decision whether to keep the car as just a weekend warrior or a daily and keep the power around 400whp. The twin is killer to drive around the city, highway is fine, city sucks...

IMO the twin disk is easier to drive on the street then the ACT's.

Agreed, once the drivetrain has stress put on it such as launching with slicks on a prepped turf the weakest link is going to give within a matter of time. I've always used ACT products but as the power grew the reliability decreased, which makes me wonder why ACT hasn't ventured into producing a twin disk? I know for a fact I would defenately be first inline to buy one ACT products never failed on me once.

I believe I speak for alot of racers when I say ACT please produce a twin disk clutch setup for us honda people!

I agree. I had the ACT maxx pp and rigid six puck and it was absolutely the worst engagement I have ever seen. I don't blame the clutch though, that is just the nature of the rigid six puck. Also, I was making 580whp and 400lbft and it started slipping after six passes. What twin are you using? I changed to a twin and it was more streetable although each person's view of streetability is different. I have people call me that make 800-1000hp and want stock engagement. It just doesn't work like that. If you want to make power, you have to sacrifice a little engagement.
