Default Axle Install

so i just replace my LX tranny with one from an Si, but now i cant seem to install the axles back in, there just not going all the way in and bottoming out like helms tells me to? I just dont get why?

try wiggling the inboard joint with your hand...if that doesnt work hold the axle straight and hit the end with a RUBBER hammer this helps the clip pop into place.

rubber hammer or a sideways hammer on the axle can help force it in. Axles arent going to go in easy, so dont go easy on them, some manhandling is required to get them in, just dont hit them too hard.

the driveshafts are still installed into the hubs, should i remove them from the hub?

yea my dad is helping me, and were banging the **** out of it and still not going in, is there anyway that the former owner when he removed the driveshafts some how removed the clips to, becuase its about a 1/4 inch from sitting flush and still not moving

theres a ring in a groove at the end of the axle, if they've been removed a lot that can get a little too much play in it, i've had luck removing it, and pinching it a bit.

sledge hammers are good too...

yea its just wont go in like its bottoming out waybefore and no matter how hard we hit the ****** it just wont budge a milimeter

You sure you got the axle lined up before you started hammering on it? Try rotating the axle while trying to push it in.
