Exhaust Setup Q
Hey there,
I have a pretty nasty exhaust leak, and a stock 93 Prelude catback system in my garage. Now i was wondering if i took the flexpipe out completley, welded a straight pipe in, and attached the Lude catback it would all go hunky dory? (Aside from that 80 gallon muffler, thats comming off)... My concern is that the flexpipe is needed to allow engine movement...

Is the Flex pipe the part that will flex? I'd assume so if this is the case my Invidia pipe doesn't have it where as my OEM one did. It seems to work without it but I have no idea on the Prelude exhaust fitting.
ALL CARS need some way to allow itself to rid the vibration of the engine and allow the exhaust system to move without stressing the joints.
It might work ok, BUT it was designed and meant to have that flex pipe in to keep the exhaust working in the long run. Take it out and you risk problems.
