Default 100mph plus wreck in type-S, and lived!!!

First off I want to say, I know what happened sucked, and was EXTREMELY stupid. But I have paid my price and this was 3 years ago in a 04 type-S. I am a much smarter person for it. This is just to let you RSX owners know that you have an extremely tuff and safe car if you ask me.

So I will admit, I was at a party drinking. We ran out of beer but I was prepared I bought a 12 pack of bud light just before I got to the party in case they didnt have what I wanted or whatever. I told a guy that I got really cool with that I had some beer in my car if he wanted one to come get it.

Well he saw my car and it was a pretty hooked up black on black S. With some nice mods. Basically he was asking a bunch of questions and wanted a ride. So we went to this long straight road in the country nobody around and I gunned it past 100mph. Them I turned around and headed back gunned it past 100mph and we came up fast on a car in our lane. I didnt want to chance hitting the breaks to hard so I went to pass and I guess I either cut the wheel to hard and/or went alittle off the road after the pass. Lost control and flipped the car several times.

We were both contious and aware, and landed in a ditch upside down. Side air bags deployed. Kicked the doors open. Only a couple of scratches on my face but I did look pretty banged up. But no permanint scaring what so ever. My passenger was fine, just freaked out.

The type-S was however destroyed. Front and back bumper gone. All windows broken. Hood crushed, every panel damaged badly. And my aftermarket rims were basically cut in half. When the car was flipped over in laid body flat with the ground.

I went to jail, payed lots of cash, insurance ski rocketed, 1yr probation, community service, no ride, etc etc.

But I will say this, I was damn impressed with the car! I cant even believe I survived. Had my passenger been hurt or killed I'd be screwed. I was truly blessed. And we both had or seat belts ON. That is something I did right, and have always done.

As I said before, I know this was far beyond stupid. But I just wanted to pass some knowledge onto everyone here, and let you know the type-S rocks. I bought another one 2 yrs later, a 06 black on black. But I think most here are much smarter than this, anyways. Hope you enjoyed the story, flame on and drive safe! Late

10.. I drank lots of beer and did a keg stand. At that point I couldnt make good decisions. I wish I had pics of it for you though. K20a2 motor might still be in that salvage yard.

my friend did something very similar. got a DUI when he totalled his '06 RSX-S. the motor was in perfect condition still. it was sitting at the junkyard with less than 5k miles.

I had 32k miles on mine. But insurance paid it off and gave me 8k dollars in the pocket. Helped big time with court costs. And when I got my license back got the 06 type-S. I should go see if I can get the ECU out of it for k-pro lol. But the motor looked good, being upside down might have messed it up though.
